Importing questions from a file
Excel, CSV, Word, GIFT and Aiken formats, and fixing errors.
In the import dialog, choose a file or paste text. Before importing, the Preview page shows which questions will be added and which rows will be skipped.
Excel and CSV
The first row is the header. You need at least a "question" column and columns for the options; the correct answer goes in a separate column as a letter or number. Single-choice, multiple-choice, true/false, short-answer and numeric questions can be imported from a spreadsheet.
Word or plain text (Aiken)
Each question is followed by its options: A), a., (A) or Cyrillic А) (Word's automatic list numbering works too). Write the answer as ANSWER: B, Answer: B, Correct answer: C) text or just the text of the right option; without an answer line, mark the right option with * or +. If the options have no letters, write ANSWER: in front of the right one — questions are recognised by bold type, numbering or a closing “?”.
GIFT (Moodle)
Questions exported from Moodle can be imported directly: the correct answer is marked with = and wrong ones with ~.
Files must not exceed 5 MB. Rows with errors are skipped and listed with their row numbers — you can fix the file and import it again.
